Convert a Chase statement PDF to CSV

You have a Chase checking statement as a PDF and you need the transactions as rows you can sort, filter, total or hand to a bookkeeper. Copying them out by hand takes ages and one slip throws the month off. PaperRows reads the PDF in your browser and gives you a CSV with one row per transaction.

Chase support is in beta. No real Chase statement has been through our full review yet, so we call it beta. We read it with the same checks as every other bank, and if a row is wrong, the refund rule covers it.

Convert your Chase statement. The preview is free, and the file never leaves your browser.

How to convert it

  1. Download the monthly statement from chase.com. Sign in on a computer, open Statements & documents, pick the checking account and the month, and save the PDF that opens. Use the original file. A printout of your account activity or a scan of a paper statement will not work. The Chase help page has the full steps.
  2. Drop the PDF into the converter. PaperRows reads it in your browser. The file is not uploaded.
  3. Look over the free preview. You see every transaction, with the page and line it came from, and the checks against the totals on the statement. If PaperRows cannot read the file, it tells you why before you pay anything.
  4. Pay $5 to download. One payment unlocks that statement and gives you two files: a plain CSV and a QuickBooks Online CSV.

What the CSV looks like

The plain CSV has one row per transaction, in statement order:

page,line,date,description,amount,balance
2,14,2026-12-30,CARD PURCHASE 12/29 HARDWARE STORE,-42.18,1957.82
2,15,2026-12-31,PAYROLL DEPOSIT,2400.00,4357.82
3,3,2027-01-02,CHECK 1043,-650.00,3707.82

(These are made-up example rows, not real data.)

  • Money in is positive, money out is negative.
  • page and line point at the exact spot on the PDF, so you can check any row against the statement.
  • Chase prints dates like 12/30 with no year. PaperRows takes the year from the statement period, so a December to January statement gets the right year on both sides. If a date does not fit the period, the preview shows no rows. We do not pick a year for you.
  • The balance column is filled where Chase printed a balance on that row.

Which Chase statements work

  • Personal checking. Yes.
  • Small business checking. Yes, when the statement has one transaction table. The sectioned layout, with separate deposits, checks paid and withdrawals tables, is not read yet. The free preview tells you so before you pay.
  • Not yet: savings, CDs, money market, Chase credit cards (Freedom, Sapphire, Ink and others), and statements that combine checking and savings in one PDF.
  • Text PDFs only. Scans and password-protected files are refused.

Checked against your statement

PaperRows adds up what it found and compares it with the totals printed on the statement, and shows you where each value came from. If a check fails, the preview names the check and shows no rows and nothing to buy. We never guess a row to make the numbers work.

Matching totals cannot prove every row is right, so look over the preview before you pay. If a row is wrong, missing or extra, you get a full refund.

What it costs

The preview is free and needs no account. Downloading the two CSV files for a statement costs $5. No subscription needed.
