One thing up front: you get a CSV, not an Excel workbook (.xlsx) and not a QBO file. Excel opens a CSV like any other spreadsheet, and you can save it as a workbook from there.
TD Bank support is in beta. So far PaperRows has read TD Bank US checking statements that we built ourselves, not a real one. We read it with the same checks as every other bank, and if a row is wrong, the refund rule covers it. Until a real statement has been through, compare the rows with your PDF before you rely on them.
Convert your TD Bank statement. The preview is free, and the file never leaves your browser.
Which TD statements this works for
Only one kind: the monthly TD Bank US personal checking statement (TD calls it an eStatement), in the layout PaperRows reads today. That is TD Bank, N.A., the US bank at tdbank.com. You can tell the layout by:
- a Statement Date and an Account Number at the top of each page,
- a checking summary marked
***Checking***, with the previous and current statement balances and the counts and totals of Deposits/Credits and Checks/Other Debits, - a list of paid checks under
***Checking Transactions***with Serial, Date and Amount, - an activity table under
***Checking Account Transactions***with Date, Description, Debits and Credits, and - a
***Balance by Date***list of end-of-day balances.
Not covered:
- TD Canada Trust, and anything from EasyWeb, is refused with "We could not confirm this is a TD Bank US statement", whatever the account.
- A recent transactions download or printout from online banking is not the monthly statement. A TD Bank US file in a layout we do not know is refused with "This TD Bank statement layout is new to us".
- Savings on its own, credit cards and loans are not read yet. A statement with two or more checking accounts is refused. On a statement with one checking account and a separate savings section, only the checking rows are read.
- Text PDFs only. Scans and password-protected files are refused.
A refused file shows no rows and costs nothing. The TD Bank help page has every case and what to do about it.
How to convert it
- Download the monthly statement from tdbank.com. Sign in on a computer, open your checking account, find Statements or eStatements, pick the month and save the PDF with the download icon in the viewer. Do not print it to a new PDF. The TD Bank help page has the full steps.
- Drop the PDF into the converter. PaperRows reads it in your browser. The file is not uploaded.
- Look over the free preview. Every transaction, with the page and line it came from, and the checks against the totals on the statement. If PaperRows cannot read the file, it tells you why before you pay anything.
- Pay $5 and click Download plain CSV. One payment unlocks that statement. You also get a QuickBooks Online CSV if you need one.
- Open the CSV in Excel. Use File > Open, or double-click the file if Excel is your spreadsheet app.
The sample statement
Every name, number and transaction in the sample is invented. Our test generator made it. It is not a real TD Bank statement. It is a plain two-page document laid out the way PaperRows expects the TD Bank US checking layout to be, and every page says SYNTHETIC TEST DATA at the top.
The statement covers September 19 to October 21, 2026: previous balance $2,550.21, 4 deposits and credits for $6,263.23, 21 checks and other debits for $2,838.40, current balance $5,975.04. Page 1 has three paid checks and 22 lines of activity. Page 2 has the Balance by Date list.

What to notice:
- Checks come first. The paid checks are printed before the activity table, so they are the first three rows, as
Check #3872and so on. The file follows the statement, not the calendar. Sort by thedatecolumn in Excel if you want date order. - The column gives the sign. TD prints every amount with no minus sign. An amount under Debits comes out negative and an amount under Credits positive, so a debit printed as
105.08is-105.08here. - The year is filled in. TD prints dates like
09/19. PaperRows takes the year from the statement period, so the dates read2026-09-19. - Wrapped lines are joined. "Fee Assessed" and "By Non-TD Bank" sit on two lines in the PDF, with the amount on the second. They come out as one row.
- The balance column is empty. TD prints no balance on each transaction, and PaperRows only writes down balances the statement prints. The Balance by Date list is used to check the rows, never turned into rows.
- page and line point at where each row is printed, so you can check any row against the PDF.
Checked against your statement
For the sample, every check that applies passes: the number of rows matches the counts next to Deposits/Credits and Checks/Other Debits, the rows add up to both totals and take the previous balance to the current one, every Balance by Date figure follows from the rows up to that day, and every date sits inside the statement period. On your own statement, if a check fails, the preview names it and shows no rows and nothing to buy. We never guess a row to make the numbers work.
The generator wrote down the expected rows while it drew the PDF, without running PaperRows, and the converter's rows match them. Our test suite holds the CSV above to the converter's output for the sample, byte for byte. That does not mean every TD Bank statement will read this cleanly. Matching totals are a strong sign, not proof, so look over the preview before you pay.
What it costs
The preview is free and needs no account. Downloading the two CSV files for a statement costs $5. No subscription.
